HYGIENE

Here at Lakeside we have high standards for hygiene, cleanliness and care. Therefore we ask customers to complete the following requests:

*All cats must be fully vaccinated prior to boarding the cattery, this will protect your cat from Feline Enteritis and Cat Flu. We advise also having the vaccine for Feline Leukaemia. An up to date vaccination certificate is required upon arrival at the cattery.
*We treat fleas very seriously here at Lakeside, therefore we ask that all cats are treated with a veterinary strength treatment prior to boarding. If you are a regular boarder there is an injection available from your vets which prevents fleas for up to 12 months but does not kill fleas if they are already present.
*We advise worming your cat on a regular basis (usually every 3 months).
*If a cat arrives at the cattery in bad health we have the right to refuse boarding.
*Whilst animals boarded at Lakeside receive every care and attention they are boarded at the risk of the owner and management of the cattery can accept no liability.
* Male cats over 6 months must be neutered or they will unfortunately be refused boarding.
PAYMENT
*Unfortunately we do not accept credit or debit cards as payment, we only accept cash or cheque (whichever is easiest for the customer). This is accepted on either drop off or collection.
*All days booked must be paid for even in the event of early collection. This is because we could have possibly taken another customers booking that included those dates.
*Deposits are none refundable.
*Prices are charged per day including drop off and collection days. Please ensure that you book the correct dates for your cats stay when booking including collection and drop off days. Many customers make the mistake of booking the days of their holiday and not when they need to drop off or collect their cat. At busy times we run a tight schedule and we are not always able to add extra days on at short notice.
*Any bookings cancelled up to 14 days prior to arrival will incur a 50% charge of the original booking.
*In the event of your cat needing veterinary treatment we would try to use your own vet when possible. Most vets ask for payment on the day of treatment which we would pay and then add to the customers bill on collection.
COLLECTION AND DROP OFF
*We ask that all cats are brought to the cattery in strong cat carriers as the temporary cardboard carriers are flimsy and easy to break out of.
*We are open from 9am till 10.30am and 3.30pm till 5pm seven days a week. We are strictly closed out of these hours so that we can spend some uninterrupted playtime time with the cats and also do any deep cleans for new guests arrivals.
*We welcome viewings but ask that potential customers arrange a time for viewing which will enable us to spend plenty of time with you showing our facilities and discussing your cats needs. We advise checking our availability and our closing dates before arranging a viewing to avoid disappointment.
MEDICATION
*We do not charge for medication here at Lakeside as we believe your cats welfare is the most important thing (most cattery’s charge for this service)
*If you have a diabetic cat which requires insulin please contact the cattery to discuss this further.
GROOMING
*Here at Lakeside we love grooming your cats as this is great bonding time. This service is free of charge (many cattery’s charge for this). Due to hygiene reasons we ask that if your cat likes to be groomed that you bring your own brush etc from home.
FEEDING
*Unless your cat has a specific veterinary diet we will supply any food of your choice. We stock a wide range of brands such as whiskers, felix, sheba, gourmet, purina, applaws, royal canine, hills, james well beloved, iams, burns, go cat and many more.
*If allowed we feed treats on a daily basis. This usually consists of tuna and chicken or something similar. We also feed dreamies, treat sticks etc
